Staff/Leadership
John Mini
John Mini's first efforts in direct mail fund-raising began in 1983 for a presidential candidate while
employed at a major DC public relations firm. Since then, John served as the creative manager at a
leading direct-mail fundraising firm responsible for the American Civil Liberties Union, Christian Children's
Fund, Common Cause, National Abortion Rights Action League, Planned Parenthood Federation of America,
and many others. John worked within several non-profits, including World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Environmental
Defense Fund (EDF) and the Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR).
John has an understanding of other areas of fund-raising within non-profits. He has managed major gifts
fund raising and multi-million dollar workplace giving programs, and provided direct-marketing counsel
for planned giving, online giving, special events, and activist recruitment within the non-profit community.
We believe that this experience provides a unique background for a direct response consultant. To learn
more about John's professional background, visit his LinkedIn Profile.
A Chicago native, John received a degree in Economics for Georgetown University in Washington, DC. He
currently lives in the beach town of Lewes Delaware.
Robert Perri
Robert Perri has an extensive background of nearly 25 years in non-profit and for-profit financial analysis
and business operations management. Perri became a CPA while at Ernst & Young. While at E&Y, Perri
analyzed many non-profit and for-profit business systems, processes, procedures and financial statements
offering formal recommendations to improve efficiency and financial integrity.
Robert Perri has initiated and implemented strong program enhancements for his client partners. Leveraging
existing and effective program processes, he has helped reduce the cost to acquire (or recapture) a member
and increase response. In addition, Robert has found unique ways to better target in-house donors and
prospects in various fund-raising campaigns.
Additional for-profit experience includes financial analysis, budgeting, fore-casting and business operations
management at Andersen Consulting. Perri's non-profit experience includes a five-year role as Director of
Finance/MIS for the USO World Headquarters. Robert Perri has a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from Catholic
University in Washington, DC.
Although Robert is a CPA and manages the numbers at JMC, he is also an award-winning chef and hails
from a very creative family - with 500 years of Italian stone carving. His great-grand father emigrated
from Italy, and he sculptured some of the most famous architectural monuments, cathedrals, state capitols,
and memorials across the country.
Robert is a volunteer of the Historic Lewes Farmers Market and serves on the Board of Trustees of the
Children's Beach House, a Delaware based non-profit that helps special needs children achieve their
potential in their families and their communities.
Our History
John Mini Consulting, Inc. (JMC) was established in 1997 to bring together the talents of senior writers,
designers, list and segmentation strategists, and suppliers to offer a fresh perspective to direct response
fundraising. John Mini Consulting offers a unique partnership model: direct access to senior fund-raising
executives. This is a rare model in the market place and we feel this is the only way to provide our client
partners with the program performance and service they deserve.
From the very start, JMC has worked with a diverse group of national and local client partners - social
service, advocacy, environmental, health and medical research agencies, among others. We have improved
existing donor acquisition programs, built strong reinstatement and conversion programs, enhanced existing
donor development programs, and in many cases, developed new direct response programs, including monthly
giving programs or on-line fund-raising and activist campaigns.
